Our management
Guangdong Hongda strictly implements scientific and orderly mining throughout the entire process of mineral resource development, complies with environmental protection and wildlife regulations in the project operation area, implements green development, pays attention to biodiversity protection, and regularly conducts biodiversity testing to control the impact on the mining area and surrounding environment within an acceptable range, achieving coordination between mineral resource development and ecological environment protection.
Carry out ecological planning
Invite third-party organizations to complete biodiversity monitoring and investigation at the mine, understand the ecological status of the project site, and through scientific ecological planning in the early stage, find the balance point between maximizing the protection of the ecological environment and optimizing mineral development, achieving equal emphasis on development, construction, and ecological protection.
Implement green development
Carry out mining construction in accordance with laws and regulations, strictly control the disposal and pollution discharge of waste, reduce interference and damage to tropical rainforests and wildlife habitats, and optimize land use to the greatest extent possible during mining and production processes, and do a good job in the reclamation of satellite pits and waste disposal sites; Relocate wild animals found on work areas and mining roads to other areas, and protect them from potential hazards in daily work.
Biodiversity monitoring
Conduct detailed field surveys every year to identify and track the biodiversity dynamics within the rainforest near the mining area. According to the company's 2022 biodiversity monitoring report, there is a healthy and diverse mammalian community around the mining area. Among them, the emergence of species such as giant anteaters and white lipped spear toothed wild boars, which are extremely sensitive to environmental interference, indicates that business activities have not yet reached the threshold of threatening the local reproduction of these species.
Daily publicity and training
Encourage employees to protect the environment and wildlife through daily environmental protection publicity and training, strictly supervise and implement the "No Fishing, No Hunting" wildlife protection policy, and invite experts from the Guyana National Wildlife Conservation Commission to conduct leopard conservation publicity lectures at the mine.
Guarding the Tropical Rainforest
The Grand Project Aurora Gold Mine in Guyana is located in the Amazon tropical rainforest. The project team regularly evaluates the biodiversity hotspots and species in the area, including whether operations may affect biodiversity and forest regeneration. Ecological conservation work is integrated throughout the entire process of project planning, development, management, and exit, focusing on issues such as water conservation, forest land protection, and biodiversity conservation, in order to better protect the tropical rainforest ecology and create a new model of harmonious integration between mining and nature.
