"The Belt and Road", overseas expedition - Pakistan Thar Open pit Coal Mine Stripping Project

The Thar Coalfield II Project in Pakistan is located in the Thar Coalfield area of the Thar Desert in the southeastern part of Sindh Province. The Thar Coalfield is the largest coal mining area discovered in Pakistan to date, and also the seventh largest brown coal mine in the world and the largest in Asia, with coal reserves of approximately 175 billion tons. The Thar Coal Field Block II Project is a key project of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, and also a benchmark project of the "China Pakistan Economic Corridor". As the construction party, Hongda Blasting has participated in the Phase I mine construction stripping, Phase I operation and maintenance, Phase II capacity expansion stripping, coal production and other projects of the coal mine project since the project was launched in 2016. As of February 2023, Hongda Blasting has completed a cumulative stripping volume of 108 million cubic meters, and is currently the largest contractor in Block I and Block II of Thar Coal Field.

Hongda blasting overcame the limited construction conditions and unfavorable conditions such as high temperature and sandstorms in the early stage of the project, efficiently completed various production tasks, and received high recognition and affirmation from the owner. Since 2016, it has won a total of more than ten group awards, including "Advanced Collective of Work Safety", "exemplary organization of Work Safety", "Excellent Construction Unit", "Advanced Collective of Work Safety Activity Month", "Outstanding Unit of Annual HSE Performance", "Outstanding Unit of Annual Epidemic Prevention Performance", "Contribution Award for Successful Handover of EPC Project Phase I", and several individual awards.
